Great DIY project!

I love mercury glass and have started collecting it. I am helping with a wedding in the next year and thought it would look very pretty at the reception for votive holders and vases. The only problem is the hefty price tag. So, I thought I’d try my hand at making my own.

For this DIY you will need:

Step 1:  Spray the inside with Looking Glass Spray.

Step 2:  Distress it!

3.  Repeat! Repeat steps 1 & 2 on the outside until you acheive the desired effect.

4.  Spray light coat of Looking Glass Spray over the outside.

And the result…

Found this while browsing Pinterest, which now that I have my new IPhone I do a lot. In fact, way to much.

I downloaded the Instagram app but am actually scared to start using it because it will be another distraction.

What did we do with all of our time before, blogs, twitter, facebook and the list goes on?

You can check out my small version of a gallery wall here.

Just wanted to share~

Thanks for stopping by!

Stripes

Stripes in the home can create a lot of different vibes, all very powerful.

Here are some really great examples.

On HGTV Design Star, they created rooms for Kris Kardashian and this one  I lovedddd the walls.

Another cool way to incorporate stripes into your design is from the floor up!

Here’s one that’s kind of retro. Very cool.

You can also choose to create stripes on the floor with 2 different shades of wood flooring.  It adds another element to the room and adds so interest in an understated way.

For creating your own stripes, check out DIY Striping Paint Techniques.

I am looking into ideas to save some space to have room for other things. We have two closets in both bedrooms that we really don’t use for anything great. I found a ton of pictures on pinterest and wanted to share with you what I found. I can’t remember the names or websites of where I found these pics and I am sorry if I didn’t mention your name.
I love the idea of having a office out of a closet.

Even a compact office space can have a high-end designer look, just as this space does.   I love the parson style desk extending out from the bookcase unit creating a work space that is efficient and functional while still maintaining a lot of style.

With so many home offices being designed around a white color theme, the grey is so refreshing.  Carrying the grey color from the desk unit onto the wall makes the space appear larger.

Little touches like the black arm-chair and white fretwork desk chair makes the space feel less like an office and more like a beautiful meeting space where work just happens to take place.

This is definitely a color palette and layout I’d love for a home office!
